Hands crocheting yarn in a warm studio

The maker behind the loop

Hi, I'm Sarah — and I've been crocheting since I could hold a hook.

What started as a rainy-afternoon hobby turned into something I couldn't put down. There's something deeply satisfying about turning a single strand of yarn into something warm, useful, and lasting — and I've been chasing that feeling ever since.

How Hook & Loop began

I started Hook & Loop in 2019 out of my apartment in Portland, Oregon. Friends kept asking where they could buy the blankets and plushies I made as gifts, so I figured — why not share them with the world?

Every piece I make is worked by hand, stitch by stitch. No machines, no shortcuts. I source my yarn from small-batch suppliers who prioritize natural fibers and ethical production, because the materials matter as much as the making.

Today, Hook & Loop ships to customers across the country. Whether it's a chunky throw for a new home, a plushie for a little one, or a custom piece made just for you — I put the same care into every single order.

What I believe in

1

Slow craft

Good things take time. Every stitch is intentional — I'd rather take an extra day than rush a piece out the door.

2

Natural materials

I work primarily with wool, cotton, and alpaca blends. Soft on skin, kind to the planet, and built to last.

3

Made to order

Most pieces are made when you order them. That means less waste, more care, and something that feels truly yours.
